THINGS DOGS HATE THAT OWNERS KEEP DOING
Let’s start straight.
Your dog loves you.
But that doesn’t mean it enjoys everything you do.
In fact…
there’s a good chance you annoy your dog every single day.
And you don’t even realize it.
Sounds harsh?
Maybe.
But if you want a dog that trusts you, follows you, and listens…
you need to know the truth.
7 THINGS DOGS HATE
1. Hugging Them Like a Stuffed Toy
I know. They’re cute. Soft.
And you want to hug them.
But most dogs do NOT like hugs.
Why?
Because it feels like control and pressure to them.
In their world, that’s not affection. That’s dominance.
A dog that freezes when you hug it…
is not enjoying it. It’s tolerating it.
2. Talking Like a Baby Without Any Meaning
“You’re my liiiittle baaaby…”
Sound familiar?
The problem isn’t the tone.
The problem is the chaos.
Dogs don’t understand words the way you do.
They follow energy, tone, and clarity.
If you keep talking without structure…
your dog stops listening.
Why would it?
To your dog, you become background noise.
3. Inconsistent Rules
Today the couch is allowed.
Tomorrow it’s not.
The day after, it’s allowed again.
And then you wonder:
“Why doesn’t my dog listen?”
Because you confused it.
Dogs don’t need freedom.
They need clarity.
No rules means no security.
No security means no trust.
4. Walks Without Real Connection
You take dog outside.
It pulls.
You follow.
That’s not a walk.
That’s chaos on a leash.
Your dog doesn’t just want to move forward.
It wants leadership.
If you don’t lead…
your dog will.
And then you end up with a dog that pulls, ignores you, and does whatever it wants.
5. Correcting at the Wrong Time
Your dog does something.
You react 10 seconds later.
And you correct it.
Do you know what your dog learned?
Nothing.
Dogs live in the moment.
If your timing is off…
the correction makes no sense.
And then you say:
“He’s stubborn.”
No, he’s not.
He’s confused.
6. Too Much Energy Without Control
Excitement. Jumping. Chaos.
“Let him be happy…”
No.
A dog that doesn’t know how to calm down
is not a happy dog.
It’s a stressed dog.
Balance is everything:
activity + calmness.
Without it…
you get a nervous dog that doesn’t know its place.
7. Ignoring the Signals Your Dog Is Giving You
Yawning. Turning the head away. Lip licking.
These are not “cute habits.”
These are signals.
Your dog is telling you:
“I’m not comfortable.”
And you keep going.
Then one day…
your dog “suddenly” reacts.
It’s not sudden.
You just weren’t listening.
THE TRUTH MOST OWNERS DON’T WANT TO HEAR
Your dog doesn’t need more love.
It needs more understanding.
Love without knowledge creates problems.
Love with knowledge builds a relationship.
WHAT NOW?
Start with one thing.
Just one.
- Be consistent
- Communicate clearly
- Learn to understand your dog
And you will see change.
Not in a month.
Much faster than you think.
If you want a dog that follows you because it WANTS to
not because it HAS to…
it’s time to change your approach.
Because the problem is not your dog.
The problem is what we do every day
without even noticing.
